Sometimes M and I pretend that we are real adults.

We go shopping for mattresses.
Buy glasses.
Rent a little house with a front porch.
Discuss plate preferences.
Pay Bills.
Buy a snazzy suit to wear at the special event.
Talk about future plans.
Get tired at 10 PM and call it a night.

And somewhere in there it hits me.
Holy moly.

I am an adult?

Blinks eyes in astonishment.

I am only 21. Well almost 22. That doesn't qualify me as an adult does it?
I mean I guess I pay for all my own stuff. I suppose I have a job. I'm almost graduated from college.

WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN.

Yep ladies and gentlemen. That is the discovery of today. I'm an adult. Like if I spent too much money on a credit card or something I would be HELD ACCOUNTABLE to the credit police. You mean no parents to bail me out?**

Strange.

Remember High school when my parents gave me allowance... bought me shampoo and conditioner... cooked me dinner... and let me live in their house... all FOR FREE???

If only I knew then what I know now.
Cause I was living the life.
Sometimes my mom would even clean my room for me.
Just because.

My other discovery was that being a real adult costs A LOT of real money.

Any furniture out there that people don't want?
Just saying.

Post inspired by Kara. Cause I totally know what you mean when sometimes you just want you mom to show up and take care of you.**
