Hi, Lovelies. It's our pleasure today to present Katherine, who has prepared a fabulously inspiring post about thrifting.
Enjoy.

Hey there Harley and Jane readers!
I'm super excited to be posting here today!
I've met Harley in person and she is the bee's knees.
We had so much fun together.

Anyway, I'm Katherine from thrifted things!
My blog is all about clothing. Mostly of which I thrift.
Today I wanted to share with you some tips about thrifting.

1. Try EVERYTHING and ANYTHING on!
When I go thrifting, I grab a cart and anything I see that has any form of potential, I throw into my cart. I hardly ever get everything I throw in there, but you always need to try it on and see what could happen! I love grabbing grandma dresses with a nice floral print. You know why? Because I'll rip that sucker apart and make it into something! Just because it might look grannyish now doesn't mean you can't make it hip and fresh. Trust me, you'll be surprised by what you can find and do.

2. Size does not matter.
When you go thrifting, look in all size categories. Just because you may be a Medium and it says Large, try it on! Seriously, it doesn't matter what size it is as long as you like it and you like how you look in it! I repeat: Size doesn't say anything.

3. Get your money's worth.
I often go to thrift stores and buy things that are huge on me. Therefore I take the extra fabric and make other things. For instance take this dress:

This dress was then made into:

4. Check out the mens/boys section.
I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE flannels and button ups. And the men's section definitely fills this fancy of mine. They have tons and tons of these! Plus while your there, check out the belts and look for suspenders. Ohhh and look for ties! You can make headband out of them. If you want to know how, go here!

5. Fix it up.
Sometimes you might find something that you just die over but it might be too big or too long or has a stain. Don't fret my friends! These are easy fixes. Find your mom or grandma and ask them to hem it for you or take it in or hid the stain with a cute broach! And if you don't have a mom or grandma that sew, pick up a needle and thread and try it yourself! You might be a master seamstress and you didn't even know it! Or, you could move to Rexburg, Idaho and I could fix it for you :)

I hope this helps you and your treasure searching!

Thanks Harley and Jane!
Good luck getting married Harley :)
