peek into the past - we're sistahs.

Leah and I have been sorting through boxes of pictures, and I wanted to share the cuteness. There's too much for us to keep it to ourselves.

A few things to keep in mind as you scroll...
I have vivid memories of looking in the mirror in the morning to see a girl with clown hair looking back, yet I hope with all my heart I have little girls with hair like mine.
Leah is aware she had a mullet for the first 5 years of her life. It was adorable, despite her protests.
I was a head taller that Leah until high school when she caught up and passed me. Serves me right for taking advantage of it all those years.
It's likely I taught Leah all she knows about fashion in the photos below {Something to be proud of? I'll let the reader decide}.
We were close when we were little, but then grew apart for the rough, hormonal years of junior high-hood. For the love of carbs, good thing those years are over. In better news - we're closer than ever.

And now, the photos.
Dun dun nuh naaaaaaaa...

Leah lived through this, don't worry.
Tight grip = tight bond.

We often wore matching outfits and were dang proud of it.
This is my ragamuffin-hair look. I like it.

We were pretty granola from the start.
Except Leah now wears clothes when we go camping.

Halloween, obviously.
From the home video footage I've seen, this was a common facial expression for Leah, but only until she figured out what a camera was.
Or maybe she just looked in the mirror for the first time that night.
My crimped hair is
g n a r l y.

It's photos like this that give me license to brag about how cute we were.
No apologies,
we're adorable.
Look at those heels! And the poofy, matching dresses!
Not to mention the hand-holding...

Granola, like I said.
I mean, didn't you wear khakis to hike?
And don't tell me you never tucked bulky sweaters into jeans.
What can we say, it was the '90s.

We seem to remember this photo being taken as we waited with pockets full of change for the ice cream truck.
Look at those outfits...we're so cool.

And this is where the chronological photos end for the public because this, my friends, is the beginnings of two very awkward Awkward Phases...
a few years we aren't so proud of.

{Necessary and hilarious, nonetheless, we recognize.}
Those years involved
{1} wannabe tomboys
{2} jeans from D.I.
{3} fleece jackets on a daily basis
{4} frizzy frizzball hair
{5} blonde eyebrows/eyelashes
{6} tattoo chokers - admit it, you had one too.
{7} and a large space between our front teeth. Yes, both of us.

Thank goodness for braces.
