Remember Harry Potter Bookclub?

Tuesday, June 5, 2012

Good news.

I finished the series, wooooo! We started the Bookclub back in October I think, a couple of friends and me. One of us finished during Christmas break, but I wasn't so quick -- I blame the Order of the Phoenix, I'm telling you. All the teenage angst was a lot to handle, and that book took me the longest chunk of time to finish.

These are how I'd rank them. Sorry Order of the Phoenix...Harry was too whine-y.
1. Half-Blood Prince
2. Deathly Hallows
3. Goblet of Fire
4. Prisoner of Azkaban
5. Sorcerer's Stone
6. Chamber of Secrets
7. Order of the Phoenix

Some of my favorite parts {spoiler alert!}:
1. Ron thinking he took Felix Felicis before the quidditch match
2. Neville destroying the next-to-last horcrux
3. DA meetings in the Room of Requirement
4. Harry's first, extra magical visit to Diagon Alley
5. Christmas at the Burrow
6. Kreature's change of heart
7. That everyone's name means something
-Bellatrix, Sirius, Regulus, and Narcissa = stars/constellations
-Pomona Sprout {herbology professor} = Greek mythological goddess of fruit
-Dumbledore = bumblebee
8. Harry and Ginny's kiss after the quidditch match
9. Seeing everyone's patronuses take shape
10. Spellcheck underlining half the words in this post

Now that I've finally finished those, I'm on to something else. Any suggestions? The goal is to read 10 more before my birthday at the end of July.

  1. I would rank the books pretty much exactly how you ranked them. HBP was definitely my favorite. :)

Have you read the Hunger Games books? They're fabulous.

    1. I read the first Hunger Games book and loved it for the most part. I loved the movie too -- I just haven't picked up the second two books. I think I will...
